"New Media for a New World" was conducted from October 23 to October 25, 1995, at the Russian-American Press and Information Center in Moscow. Organizers of the event included the Art Pattison Communications Exchange Program, the Center for Civil Society International, the Center for War, Peace and the News Media, the Russian-American Press and Information Center, Relcom, GlasNet and Sovam Teleport.

Funding was provided by the Russian-American Media Partnerships Program of the U.S. Agency for International Development and by contributors to the CEP. Assistance was provided by Sun Microsystems, Golden Line and Stel.

The first "New Media for a New World" conference was conducted from July 27 to August 2, 1994, at the Ostankino Broadcast Center in Moscow, with funding from USIA through the Eurasia Foundation, from U S West International and New Media Ventures.
